UHMWPE Fiber Preparation and Fiber Grade Resin Research Project Passed Acceptance

On December 29, 2012, the important direction project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences led by the Ningbo Institute of Materials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was undertaken. . The leaders of the High-Tech Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the members of the acceptance expert group, the members of the project team, and the supervisors and financial personnel of the project undertaking unit participated in the acceptance meeting.

The project is guided by the development strategy of the national high-performance fiber industry, combining the advantages of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in polymer physics, olefin polymerization catalysts, fiber molding technology, UHMWPE new catalyst and fiber-grade resin polymerization process, resin swelling / dissolution law, Spinnability evaluation, and the relationship between fiber structure and performance have formed a deeper understanding, which has made UHMWPE fiber preparation technology to a higher level. The project also explores high-concentration spinning technology based on the improvement of UHMWPE fiber-grade resin and jelly spinning process, laying a good start for the next step of achieving low-cost manufacturing of UHMWPE fiber.

Researcher Yan Qing, the project leader, on behalf of the project team and project undertaking unit, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Chinese Academy of Sciences High-Tech Bureau, Ningbo Dacheng New Materials Co., Ltd. and other units for their strong support. Focus on forming and perfecting new high-concentration gel spinning technology, leading the industry to transform and upgrade to low-cost manufacturing, low-carbon environmental protection process, and hope to get continuous support from the High-Tech Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Technology
